Every article on this site is an account of what was said on a named podcast episode, written down in plain language. It is not reporting, it is not independently verified, and it is not this site's own analysis of events. How this works sets out exactly what the site does and does not do, and it is part of how these terms should be read.

The material dates. Coverage of a live conflict is true as of the day it was spoken and not afterwards, which is why every article prints the date the words were said as well as the date they were written up.

The content is offered as it stands, for general interest and background. Nothing here is advice of any kind, and nothing here should be used to make a decision that affects anyone's safety, travel, money or legal position. Where an article reports a claim, the claim is the speaker's, and checking it is yours to do.

Plain War Editorial publishes this site without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Plain War Editorial is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this site or from reliance on anything published on it.

The name printed twice above is unresolved and is rendered exactly as it is stored. The legal entity behind this site has not been decided, and it is the site owner's decision alone. A liability clause naming an invented company would be worse than a visible gap, so the gap is left visible. It is recorded as brand.editorialName in site.config.ts and must be real before this site is published to a domain.

The podcasts, broadcasts and videos an article is written from are not this site's work, and this site claims no ownership of them. They belong to the people and organisations who made them. An article reports and summarises an episode, quotes from it where quoting is the honest way to report it, names the show and the episode, and links back to the original.

If you hold rights in a work referred to here and believe an article goes further than reporting and comment allow, write to the address below. A piece will be cut back or taken down rather than argued over.

You may quote a reasonable extract from an article, for any purpose, with a link back to the page it came from. Republishing a whole article, or enough of one to stand in for it, needs permission first. The same goes for a translation, which should also say which article it is a translation of and link to it.

One condition applies to every quote, and it is the reason this section exists: carry the credit with it. A claim in an article belongs to the show that made it, on the date it was made, not to this site. Quoting the claim while dropping the show, the episode and the date turns somebody's broadcast opinion into an anonymous fact, which is the one thing this whole site is built to prevent.

The names of shows, programmes, companies, weapon systems, armed forces and services mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners. They are used here to identify the thing being discussed. No affiliation, sponsorship, approval or endorsement by any of them is claimed or should be inferred, in either direction.

These terms carry the date they were last written, printed at the top of this page. That date moves when the words change and at no other time, so it is a real record rather than a build stamp.

It is recorded as brand.email in site.config.ts, no mailbox can exist before the domain does, and creating it is the site owner's to do.
